Hanover Pounds Pirates 11-6

The Hanover Raiders brought the lumber on Sunday, cracking 14 hits and taking advantage of 8 free passes to defeat homestanding Cashtown 11-6. The win give the Raiders a 2-1 series lead in the best-of-five SPL championship series. Kody Kibler, Alex Smith, and Kenny Horney each drove in three runs for the Raiders, with Smith and Mark Phillips pacing the offense with three hits each. Kibler and Clint Roche each added a pair of hits. Beau Deatrick tossed five innings to get the win. He struck out three and allowed just one run before being removed with an 11-1 lead in the sixth. The Pirates scored 5 runs over the final two frames to halve the gap but they could get no closer. Tyler Reinert and Chris Schachle each had two hits for Cashtown.

Game four moves back to Diller Field on Tuesday at 6:00.
