Nedzel Powers Panthers Past Raiders

North Carroll's Zack Nedzel homered and drove in four to lead the Panthers to a 10-6 win over previously undefeated Hanover Thursday night at Diller Field. Teammate Todd Wilmer drove in three on a pair of hits, while brother Andrew Wilmer also had two hits, scored three runs, and tossed three innings to notch a save. Nedzel struck out four over four innings to gain the victory on the mound. For Hanover, Alex Smith was 2-for-4 and Mark Phillips drove in two. Raiders starter AJ Baadte struck out six over four innings of work.

In other SPL action from Thursday, New Oxford held off the Biglerville 7-4 at Oakside. The Twins led 5-0 after four innings, fueled in part by an Alex Emlet solo homer and Jeff Deveney's RBI double. But Biglerville came back with four runs in the fifth on Noah Ayers' RBI single and a two-run blast from Tyler Kime. New Oxford tacked on insurance runs in the last two frames on two-out RBI singles from Larry Baumgardner and Derek Smith. Emlet, Smith, and winning pitcher Jordan Arnold each had two hits for the Twins.

Littlestown and Brushtown postponed their scheduled game and will replay the contest at a later date.
