Null, Burke Lift Raiders to 5-1 Win

Tyler Null allowed just one run over six innings and Andrew Burke provided a 3-run homer to lift Hanover to a 5-1 win over Cashtown in game one of the SPL championship series Thursday at Diller Field. Null didn't strike out a batter but limited the Pirates to a single run, coming on Chris Schachle's solo home run in the top of the sixth. Austin Kibler's sac fly in the second staked the Raiders to an early lead, and he provided the final run on an RBI single in the fifth. Earlier in the fifth, Burke launched his blast, helping the Raiders break things open for good. Burke was joined by Mark Phillips, Clint Roche, and Pat Brady with two-hit nights, while Schachle had two of the Pirates' five hits.

Game two moves to Cashtown Saturday at 1:00 p.m., with Austin Kibler and Chase King mentioned as the tentative starters.
