Sweeps for Twins, Raiders, Dodgers

Littlestown led a trio of SPL Father's Day sweeps on Sunday as the Dodgers defeated Brushtown by scores of 9-0 and 15-4 at the Brushtown Athletic Association field. In the opener, Calvin Benevento tossed five innings of two-hit ball for the win. Jacob House, Justin Keith, and Jacob Crawmer each had multiple hits and two or more RBIs. Game two saw Jackson Eaves deliver three hits and Joe Murren drive in three. Seth Fisher had two hits for the Bulldogs and T. Stremmel drove in a pair.

New Oxford clipped Biglerville in a pair of close games at New Oxford. In game one, Brady Topper's walk-off single scored Matt Martin in the bottom of the seventh of the Twins' 2-1 victory. Will Tokarski and Ben Bretzman were locked into a pitcher's duel through six, with both pitchers fanning six. Austin Roth had two hits for the Twins while Tyler Kime and Chase Long had two hits for the Sox. In the nightcap, Jordan Arnold doubled in the tying run in the fourth, then singled in the go-ahead run in the fifth of New Oxford's 4-1 win. Alex Emlet went five to get the win.

Hanover edged North Carroll by scores of 4-3 and 1-0. Tyler Null pitched into the seventh to get the win in game one with Kody Kibler staving off a Panthers rally to notch the save. Adam Smith had two hits to lead both offenses. In game two, Andrew Burke fired a one-hitter with nine punchouts, but the Raiders still had to scratch across a run in the seventh on Kibler's sac fly to secure the sweep. Steve Stonesifer was the hard luck loser, as he allowed just four hits. Connor Risner had North Carroll's lone base knock against Burke.

Cashtown and Gettysburg postponed their scheduled doubleheader. No makeup dates have been announced.
