Chris Schachle had three hits including a double and a triple and drove in a pair of runs, and pitcher Chase King struck out seven in a complete game effort to lead Cashtown past North Carroll 7-1 Tuesday night at Cashtown. Michael Tempel and Robert Rohrbaugh chipped in two hits each for the Pirates. Andrew Wilmer had two hits for North Carroll.

 

Dan Dennison and Dustin O'Brien each homered and combined to drive in five runs as the Gettysburg Grays defeated Hanover 7-4 Sunday at Diller Field. O'Brien had three hits on the afternoon while Dennison and Troy Litten each had two for the Grays. Sam Shea picked up the win despite allowing six walks. Tyler Martin threw the final three innings for the save. Pat Brady had a pair of hits to lead Hanover.

New Oxford downed Littlestown 6-1 at Littlestown. Matt Martin drove in two and was joined by Jeff Deveney, Austin Roth, Alex Emlet, Davey Zaminski, and Conrad Miller with two hits each for the Twins. Anthony Lippy carried a no-hitter into the seventh before a double by Sam Zeigler ended the bid,

Cashtown and North Carroll split their doubleheader Sunday in Hampstead. Cashtown's Matt Negro homered twice and drove in five as the Pirates blasted the hosts 14-5 in the opener. A six-run sixth inning helped the Pirates pull away. Chase King and Ethan Ketterman had three hits and were among seven Pirates with multiple hits. Alex DeHaas went the distance for the victory, striking out seven. In the nightcap, Trevor Boring scattered seven hits over seven innings and he was backed by a 12-hit attack led by Zach Nedzel's three hits in the Panthers' 7-3 win. Andrew Wilmer, Wade Groupp, and Ryan Gerber added two hits for North Carroll.  Losing pitcher D.J. Cool drove in all three runs for the Pirates.

Biglerville blanked Brushtown by scores of 17-0 and 21-0 at Oakside. Jake Beal struck out eight batters in just three innings for the win in the opener, while Ben Bretzman fanned 12 in game two. Noah Ayres drove in six on the afternoon and had four hits in game two. Brandon Miller and Pat Armor added three hits each in the second game.

 

 

Chris Schachle's two-out single in the bottom of the eighth provided Cashtown with a thrilling 1-0 walk-off win over Hanover Thursday night at Cashtown. Schachle's hit off Raiders reliever Jon Karlheim drove home Cooper Ayres, who started the inning with a walk before being sacrificed to second. Cody Smith went all eight frames for Cashtown, allowing three hits while striking out seven against no walks. Counterpart Andrew Burke threw seven scoreless and struck out 10.

In other SPL action from Thursday, Gettysburg's Derek Ivey struck out nine and allowed just three hits as the Grays surprised Littlestown 4-2. Cory Rice's 2-run single in the top of the first spearheaded a 3-run inning, and Zach Curll's sac fly brought in Tyler Martin with an insurance run in the seventh. Rice and Martin each had two hits for Gettysburg. Jacob Crawmer had the only RBI for Littlestown, and Justin Keith doubled for the Dodgers.

Tanner Byers struck out eight in Biglerville's 4-0 victory over visiting North Carroll. Shawn Redding belted a pair of doubles and Brian Redding added two hits for the Black Sox. Andrew Wilmer and Kevin Burnham had two hits apiece for the Panthers in the loss.

New Oxford scored 10 runs in the final two frames to down Brushtown 11-1. Brushtown starter Tyler Stremmel kept New Oxford in check through five before Jeff Deveney's home run jump started the Twins offense. Alex Emlet was 4-for-4 and Austin Roth and Conrad Miller each drove in three for New Oxford. Jordan Arnold went the distance and allowed no earned runs and four hits to get the win.

 

Cashtown and Gettysburg were tied at 3-3 after three, but the Pirates scored six runs over the fourth and fifth innings to pull away from the Grays 11-5 Wednesday at Rec Park. Robert Rohrbaugh had three hits and Chase King had three RBIs to lead Cashtown. Tyler Reinert struck out 11 in five innings of work to notch the win. Cole Minovich had two hits for Gettysburg.

 

New Oxford scored 11 runs in the top of the first, propelling the Twins past Brushtown 17-0 Tuesday at Brushtown. Larry Baumgardner had three of New Oxford's 16 hits, while Brady Topper and Matt Martin combined to drive in 10.  Derek Smith allowed one hit over four innings to get the win.

In another makeup game from Tuesday, Littlestown defeated North Carroll 7-6. No details on that game were provided.
