Gettysburg found themselves in a dogfight in both games of its doubleheader at Brushtown, but the Grays emerged victorious. Each game saw the two squads knotted at 4-4 after five.  In the opener, the Grays pushed a run across in the top of the sixth and held on for the 5-4 win. Tyler Martin went the distance and struck out 15 to get the win, while counterpart Ethan Slusser also tossed a complete game and fanned 8. Logan Carbaugh had three hits and three RBIs to lead Gettysburg, while Slusser, Chris Staub, and Joel Raubenstein all had two hits for Brushtown. In the nightcap Gettysburg pulled away in the last two innings to win 7-5. Troy Litten had two hits for Gettysburg. Sam Shea went five innings for the win, while Dan Dennison picked up the save. Raubenstine struck out 10 in the loss.

Hanover moved into the league lead in wins with a pair of victories over Biglerville on Sunday at Oakside.  The Raiders scored six runs in the top of the first, then held off a Biglerville comeback to down the Sox 9-6 in the opener. Mark Phillips, Bob Taylor, Andrew Burke, and Kody Kibler each had two hits in the win. Tyler Null got the win and Kibler nailed down the save. Noah Ayers had three hits and Shawn Redding homered to lead Biglerville.  In game two, John Karlheim hit a two-out, two-run single to break a 5-5 tie, allowing Hanover to take the nightcap 7-5. Burke and Alex Smith both doubled and picked up 2 RBIs in the win, and Adam Smith singled twice. Redding was 2-for-4 with a double for the Black Sox.

New Oxford's Anthony Lippy struck out 15 in the Twins 10-1 opening-game win over North Carroll, but the Panthers bounced back in game two with a 7-4 victory to salvage a split in their doubleheader at North Carroll High School. Larry Baumgardner had three hits and Mitch Collins had a pair of singles and drove in three for New Oxford in the opener, while Elijah Wingate had three of the Panthers' five hits. In game two,the Panthers trailed 2-1 but scored six runs in the bottom of the fifth. Steve Stonesifer got the win depsite walking 10, and Zac Nedzel finished up to preserve the comeback. Wade Groupp, Ryan Gerber, and Dalton Groupp had two hits apiece for the Panthers. Collins chipped in two more hits for the Twins.

 

North Carroll scored seven runs over the first two innings, then withstood a late Gettysburg charge to down the Grays 8-5 Thursday night in Hampstead, MD.  Elijah Wingate, Zac Nedzel, and Todd Wilmer each drove in a pair of runs for the Panthers. Trevor Boring threw four innings to get the win and Nedzel finished to notch the save. Ian Van Anden drove in two runs for the Grays.

New Oxford and Hanover played to a 1-1 tie over nine innings. Brady Topper's solo home run in the fourth put the Twins ahead, but the Raiders responded an inning later when Zach Rudisill delivered Clint Roche with a single. Bob Taylor had 3 hits for the Raiders, while Conrad Miller and Derek Smith had two hits each for the Twins.

Cashtown jumped on Brushtown early and cruised to an 11-1 win over the Bulldogs at the Brushtown Athletic Association.  No game details were provided.

Littlestown and Biglerville were force to postpone their contest when the umpires deemed the field unplayable. No makeup date for that game has been announced.

 

North Carroll defeated Brushtown 13-2 in five innings Tuesday night in a makeup game in Hampstead.  No game details were provided.

Also, North Carroll and Littlestown will make up their rainout from last week next Tuesday, June 25, at North Carroll High School.

 

SPL Commissioner Parker Lerew has allowed Littlestown and Cashtown to postpone their doubleheader originally scheduled for this coming Sunday, June 23, to later in the season. The games will now be played as single contests at Littlestown on Tuesday, July 9 and Tuesday, July 16.

 

Littlestown led a trio of SPL Father's Day sweeps on Sunday as the Dodgers defeated Brushtown by scores of 9-0 and 15-4 at the Brushtown Athletic Association field. In the opener, Calvin Benevento tossed five innings of two-hit ball for the win. Jacob House, Justin Keith, and Jacob Crawmer each had multiple hits and two or more RBIs. Game two saw Jackson Eaves deliver three hits and Joe Murren drive in three. Seth Fisher had two hits for the Bulldogs and T. Stremmel drove in a pair.

New Oxford clipped Biglerville in a pair of close games at New Oxford. In game one, Brady Topper's walk-off single scored Matt Martin in the bottom of the seventh of the Twins' 2-1 victory. Will Tokarski and Ben Bretzman were locked into a pitcher's duel through six, with both pitchers fanning six. Austin Roth had two hits for the Twins while Tyler Kime and Chase Long had two hits for the Sox. In the nightcap, Jordan Arnold doubled in the tying run in the fourth, then singled in the go-ahead run in the fifth of New Oxford's 4-1 win. Alex Emlet went five to get the win.

Hanover edged North Carroll by scores of 4-3 and 1-0. Tyler Null pitched into the seventh to get the win in game one with Kody Kibler staving off a Panthers rally to notch the save. Adam Smith had two hits to lead both offenses. In game two, Andrew Burke fired a one-hitter with nine punchouts, but the Raiders still had to scratch across a run in the seventh on Kibler's sac fly to secure the sweep. Steve Stonesifer was the hard luck loser, as he allowed just four hits. Connor Risner had North Carroll's lone base knock against Burke.

Cashtown and Gettysburg postponed their scheduled doubleheader. No makeup dates have been announced.
