Adam Smith's solo home run in the bottom of the eighth inning lifted the Hanover Raiders past North Carroll in a 9-8 slugfest Sunday at Diller Field. The two teams combined for 31 hits in the game, with Smith and Pat Brady belting three each for the Raiders and Zak Nedzel and Todd Willmer providing three knocks for the Panthers. Jon Karlheim added a home run and drove in four for Hanover. Brady tossed 2-plus innings of relief to earn the win.

Cashtown took a pair of games from Gettysburg by identical 10-0 scores. The Pirates won game one in five innings despite only four hits. Tyler Reinert had 4 RBIs in the opener and Chase King scored three times. Josh Topper struck out 12 for the win. Game two was scoreless until the Pirates scored three in the fifth and then seven in the sixth. Alex DeHass fanned eight to get the win. DJ Cool, Matt Negro, Dylan Ed, and King each drove in two.

New Oxford used three pitchers to blank Biglerville 8-0 at Oakside. Larry Baumgardner's three hits led the Twins' 13-hit attack. Mitch Collins added two hits and Conrad Miller drove in three. Alex Emlet threw the first four frames to notch the win.

 

Hanover defeated New Oxford by a score of 4-0 Saturday afternoon at Diller Field.  Andrew Burke struck out 11 Twins in six innings of work to notch the win. A. Smith had two hits for Hanover.

 

 

Littlestown scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh to top Biglerville 7-6 Friday night at Littlestown. Jacob Crawmer drove in a pair for the Dodgers, Jackson Eaves had two hits, and Sam Wertz homered. Noah Ayers had two hits for the Black Sox.

 

Dan Shafer's two-out single in the top of the seventh scored Alex Emlet with the game-winning run in New Oxford's 5-4 win over Cashtown Thursday at Cashtown. Both teams took turns trailing, then rallying to retake the lead in the game. New Oxford led 3-0 after two frames thanks to Jordan Arnold's 2-run single and a sac fly from Brady Topper, but Cashtown tied things up on a pair of bases-loaded walks sandwiched around Ethan Ketterman's RBI single. The Pirates took the lead in the fourth on Michael Tempel's RBI single that scored Dylan Ed, but Topper knotted things at 4-4 in the sixth on an infield single. Arnold and Larry Baumgardner had two hits each for the Twins, while Tempel and Ketterman notched a pair of singles for Cashtown.

No other scores or updates were reported for other SPL games scheduled for Thursday evening.

 

New Oxford scored eight runs in the second inning to propel the Twins by Gettysburg 11-1 Wednesday night at Rec Park.  Conrad Miller's 3-run double was the big blast in the inning.  Jordan Arnold, Davey Zaminski, and Alex Emlet had two hits each for the Twins.
