The New Oxford Twins defeated the Hanover Raiders 4-3 Sunday in the final game of the SPL regular season. With the win, the Twins and Brushtown Bulldogs both finish with identical 18-10 records. The two teams split their 4-game series during the regular season, but the Twins outscored the Bulldogs 13-10, giving the Twins the tiebreaker. As a result, New Oxford will be the no. 3 seed and Brushtown the no. 4 seed in the upcoming league playoffs.
Cashtown defeated Brushtown 2-1 Saturday, clinching the no. 2 seed in the upcoming playoffs in the process.
The New Oxford Twins and Hanover Raiders have postponed their season finale to Sunday, July 16, due to the NOHS field being unavailable on Saturday. Game time will be 1:00 p.m.
Hanover defeated Cashtown 5-4 Thursday night at Diller field, which clinched the no. 1 playoff seed for the Raiders. Cashtown plays Brushtown on Saturday, with the winner gaining the no. 2 seed.
New Oxford outslugged Mummasburg Thursday, 11-7. Conrad Miller, Alex Emlet, and Austin Roth had two hits each for New Oxford, while Chris Shriver was 3-for-4 with 4 RBIs for the Mets.
Biglerville blanked Gettysburg 13-0 in five innings, as each team concluded its regular season.
The Littlestown Dodgers defeated Hanover 3-0 Wednesday evening at Littlestown. The win guarantees the Dodgers (15-12) of a winning season and prevents the Raiders (20-6) from clinching the top spot in the regular season standings.
Hanover hosts Cashtown Thursday in a game with playoff seeding implications for the top four teams in the standings.
