New Oxford responded to an early 2-0 deficit with 12 unanswered runs in the Twins 12-2 win over Biglerville in five innings Wednesday at Oakside Community Park. Tyrel Taughinbaugh and Travis Byers belted solo homers in the bottom of the first for Biglerville, but New Oxford answered with eight runs in the top of the second to take command. Jeff Deveney had two hits in the frame, including a 2-run single. Evan Haymaker and Brady Topper added RBI hits for the Twins, who benefitted from three bases-loaded walks. Deveney had three hits on the night and Haymaker added two for the Twins.

 

J.C. Collins spun a complete game two-hit shutout Tuesday as Cashtown blanked Hanover 3-0 at Diller Field.  Alex Dehaas and Robert Rohrbaugh registered RBIs for Cashtown as part of a nine-hit attack.

New Oxford downed Biglerville 9-3 at Oakside Community Park. Davey Zaminski belted a 3-run homer as part of a six-run sixth for the Twins. Travis Byers went 3-for-3 for the Black Sox.

 

The Littlestown Dodgers went 4-0 this past weekend by sweeping a pair of doubleheaders. On Saturday, the Dodgers took a pair of makeup games from Gettysburg, winning game one 14-7 and taking game two 8-3 in a rain-shortened affair. Jacob Crawmer had four hits and drove in four in the opener, and Sam Wertz was 3-for-3 in the nightcap. The Dodger bats stayed hot on Sunday versus North Carroll as Crawmer, Wertz, Trent Copenhaver, and Sean Connole all posted three hits in a 9-2 game one victory. Connole added three more hits and went the distance on the hill in game two as the Dodgers prevailed 6-1.

New Oxford also did double duty this weekend. The Twins downed North Carroll 6-0 in a makeup game Saturday evening at New Oxford. Brady Topper, Jordan Arnold, and Dalton Haymaker each had RBI doubles in the bottom of the first to propel the offense and Alex Emlet went seven strong for the win. On Sunday, the Twins defeated Cashtown by scores of 5-0 and 3-2. Larry Baumgardner and Austin Roth both drove in a pair in the opener for the Twins. In game two New Oxford got a sixth-inning go-ahead RBI double from Zach Keffer, part of a 3-for-3 day, to rally past the Pirates. Wes Deporter homered for Cashtown in the loss.

The theme of sweeps continued in Brushtown Sunday, as the Bulldogs edged Hanover by scores of 1-0 and 3-2. Jared Becker had two hits and scored the lone run for Brushtown in the early game. Sam Stephen, Bubba Ripple, Keith Pappas, and Zak Nedzel all had two hits in game two. Reliever Cooper Ayers recorded a save in game one, then earned the win in game two.

 

Hanover pitcher Jake Toal allowed just one hit over five innings as the Hanover Raiders defeated Cashtown 10-0 in five innings Thursday at Diller Field.  Pat Brady was 3-for-3, Kody Kibler drove in 4, and Andrew Burke homered for the Raiders, who moved past the Pirates and into second place with the win.  Eric Ketterman had the lone hit for Cashtown.

New Oxford was outhit by Brushtown but took advantage of eight free passes to beat the Bulldogs 5-2.  Anthony Lippy struck out 13 in the complete game win.  Cody Smith hit a 2-run home run for Brushtown.

Littlestown defeated Gettysburg 2-1.  No details from that game were reported.

 

New Oxford raced out to an early lead, then dodged the rain to defeat Brushtown 7-0 in five innings Wednesday night.  Alex Emlet had a bases-loaded triple as part of the Twins 5-run top of the first, then added an RBI double in the fifth. He was joined by Austin Roth, Mitch Collins, and Davey Zaminski with two hits each for the Twins.  Conrad Miller tossed five shutout innings to earn the win.
