North Carroll pitcher Trevor Boring tossed a complete game with six strikeouts, leading the Panthers to a 7-3 win over Cashtown Tuesday. It was the Panthers second win in three tries against the defending league champs. Elijah Wingate and Peyton Allen had two hits apiece for North Carroll, while Robert Rohrbaugh and Chris Schachle both had two hits for the Pirates.

Biglerville stepped over the .500 line with an 8-3 win over Gettysburg at Rec Park.  The Byers clan accounted for seven of the Black Sox 12 hits, led by papa bear Travis' three hits. Keith Redding notched the win in relief.

 

Tuesday's scheduled makeup game between New Oxford and Brushtown has been moved back a day to Wednesday, June 20, at Brushtown.

New Oxford's unusual doubleheader sweep of Littlestown Saturday afternoon moved the Twins into first place in the South Penn League standings. The Twins won game one by forfeit, 7-0, when a Littlestown player ejection in the top of the third inning prevented the Dodgers from fielding 9 men. The baseball gods then laughed as it took 11 innings to settle game two, eventually won by the Twins by a score of 2-1.  Dalton Haymaker's solo home run in the top of the final inning made the difference. Littlestown outhit the Twins 9-6 in the marathon, stranding 14 runners along the way.

In other SPL results from Sunday, North Carroll outlasted Cashtown 10-9 in game one before the visiting Pirates roared back with a 12-1 win in the nightcap to split their doubleheader at North Carroll HS.

Brushtown and Hanover each picked up a pair of Father's Day wins on their home fields. The Bulldogs swept Biglerville by scores of 9-2 and 6-3, while Hanover blasted past Gettysburg 12-2 and 14-4.

The Gettysburg Grays notched their first win of the season Thursday, besting North Carroll 5-3 at North Carroll HS.  Grays pitcher Derek Ivey tossed a complete game with 14 strikeouts to earn the win.  Mike Topper had a two-run double for Gettysburg.

In other SPL action from Thursday, New Oxford downed Hanover 15-4 in five innings. Davey Zaminski, Brady Topper, and Alex Emlet all homered for New Oxford, while Bob Taylor went yard for the Raiders.

Cashtown beat Brushtown 8-0 to stay atop the standings, while Littlestown edged Biglerville 4-3. No game details were reported.

Biglerville defeated Gettysburg 8-2 Wednesday night in an SPL makeup game at Rec Park.  With the win, Biglerville improves to 7-4 and are tied for first place with Cashtown.

All 8 SPL teams will be in action Thursday.
