New Oxford staged a 3-run rally in the bottom of the sixth and then withstood a Hanover rally of their own in the seventh as the Twins defeated the Raiders 3-1 Tuesday at New Oxford High School. Two of the SPL's best squared off as Anthony Lippy and Andrew Burke toed the rubber to start this one. Clint Roche's RBI single that drove in Adam Smith in the third was the only damage against Lippy, but a high pitch count ended his night after four innings. Meanwhile, Burke allowed only one hit, a fifth inning single by Kevin McManama, before he was lifted after the fifth inning. New Oxford's sixth began with a Brady Topper walk, and a pair of sacrifice bunts yielded no outs as the Twins loaded the bases. Topper scored on a wild pitch before Joel Clabaugh flared a single to right to bring in Jeff Deveney with the go-ahead run. McManama followed with a sac fly for the final margin. The Raiders loaded the bases on a pair of walks and an infield error with two outs in the seventh, but Bob Taylor's hard line drive to center was gloved by Conrad Miller for the final out. Dan Shafer tossed three innings of shutout ball to nab the win for New Oxford.

Littlestown was a pitch away from garnishing a doubleheader split, but Austin Roth delivered a bases-loaded, two-out, full count single that drove in the tying and go-ahead runs in a thrilling 2-1 victory in game two of New Oxford's sweep of Littlestown Sunday at New Oxford High School. Down 1-0 in the seventh, Alex Emlet singled and Davey Zaminski walked. Two outs later, Larry Baumgardner was intentionally walked to get to Roth who snuck a grounder past a diving Sam Wertz for the walkoff. Jeff Deveney had three hits for New Oxford, which survived three errors, two of which put the Dodgers ahead in the top of the sixth. Jordan Arnold got the win with five innings of solid relief. In the opener, Conrad Miller's 3-run double was the big blow in a five-run second that staked the Twins to a 5-1 win. Will Tokarski allowed just two hits in the complete game win.
In other SPL action from the weekend, Cashtown clipped North Carroll 6-3 in game one of their scheduled double dip at Cashtown. For North Carroll, Trevor Boring had three hits and Wade Group had two, with Elijah Wingate driving in a pair of runs. Game two of the doubleheader was tied at 0-0 with two outs in the bottom of the fifth when heavy rain halted the game. A decision on the final status of the game is forthcoming.

Down 3-2 in the final inning, the Pirates were down to their last out when Robert Rohrbaugh singled and Chris Schachle doubled just before Ketterman's blast ended it.
